built on three simple things.
The Special opened its doors in 2015 as a family-owned, veteran-owned restaurant on Fort Crook Road in Bellevue. Since then, we’ve been voted Best of Bellevue, Best of Sarpy County, and Best of Omaha — but what we’re proudest of is the regulars who walk in, sit in “their” booth, and order without looking at the menu.
We believe a great meal isn’t complicated. It’s good ingredients, a hot griddle, and someone who actually cares if you liked it. From homemade soups that simmer all morning to burgers patted fresh by hand and biscuits baked the same day they’re served, everything here is made the old-fashioned way — because it still tastes better that way.
